This grant program is established to honor artistic excellence, advance the professional work of individual artists in the greater Lansing region, and to provide the public with access to regional artistic Grants in the Established
Artist category are awarded to professional artists who have a five-year (or longer) history of artistic shows and sales. Artists should demonstrate a serious career commitment to the arts, and have a developed body of work. Grants in the Emerging Artist category are awarded to professional artists who have less than a five-year history of artistic shows and sales. Artists should demonstrate a serious career commitment to the arts.
Grant Amount: Provides $1,000 grants to individual artists in two categories: Emerging Artists and Established Artists.
Application Availability/Deadline/Term: Application forms and instructions are available in mid-December. All applications must be received in the Arts Council office by 5:00 p.m. on January 31. A workshop for applicants will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2012 from 4-5pm in 1210 Turner; Please RSVP to

A sample of a successful application is available for review in the Arts Council of Greater Lansing office. Arrangements can be made to view the document by calling (517) 372-4636x3. Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application approximately two months after submission.
