Upjohn Institute for Employment Research entitled, Economic Benefits of Michigan's Art and Cultural Activities, did you know that:
- Michigan arts and cultural activities currently support, directly or indirectly, 108,000 jobs in Michigan?
- Nearly $2 billion is generated each year by Michigan arts and cultural activities?
- In 2004 the average household expenditure was $30.72 per month on arts and cultural activities?
- Nearly 40% of the household surveyed indicated that they would travel outside of the state for arts and cultural activities if they were not available in Michigan?
- One-third of respondents felt that the quality and availability of arts and cultural activities would play a major role in their next relocation decision?
- That people visiting Michigan spend $65.7 million dollars annually on arts and cultural activities?
