For Artists
In keeping with our mission of leading, advocating for and advancing the arts in the capital region, the Arts Council of Greater Lansing (ACGL) provides a number of services for artists:

Advocacy
The Arts Council advocates local and statewide policy issues and initiatives and also keeps up-to-date on trends, current research, reports, and other issues that may affect artists.

Consultations
Acting as an arts resource agency, the Arts Council makes its staff available for one-on-one consultations and individualized support.

Service and Programs
The Arts Council supports the work of area artists through special community activities and events, and by holding workshops on topics that are relevant to artists’ needs.

Artist Register
A file within the Arts Council office is available for community members seeking referrals for art work, arts education opportunities, performers and other information on artists in the tri-county region.

Website Directory
An online directory of member artists is available through the Arts Council’s website to provide the public with an opportunity to search for artists in our region.

Resources
The Arts Council regularly distributes and posts information about volunteer and employment opportunities, calls to artists, auditions, workshops, and other resources for artists through the Arts Council’s Council Talk publication and also on the Arts Council’s website.
