Professional Development Services
As an arts resource agency, the Arts Council makes its staff available for group consultations and individualized support. Members also receive invitations to free or low cost special programs, workshops, forums and creative mixers.
Grant Services and Support
The Arts Council provides grant technical assistance to members and administers four grant programs that enable eligible arts and cultural groups to create and present arts and cultural programs, events and educational opportunities. Programs include the Michigan Council for the Arts & Cultural Affairs (MCACA) Minigrant Program, the Ingham County Hotel/Motel Program for Promotional Support, the City of Lansing Minigrant Program, and the Arts Council's Collaborative Grant Program. Only member organizations are eligible to apply to the Collaborative Arts Grant Program (deadline June 30). In addition, member organizations have access to Grant Station (searchable grant software) by scheduling an appointment with an Arts Council staff member.
Promotional Support and Communications Services
The Arts Council actively promotes arts and cultural activities in our region through our website calendar, media previews, press releases, interviews and relationships with area media outlets, and via our Council News publication. Members not only receive up-to-date electronic information regarding legislative efforts, opportunities, employment and other news, but the Arts Council staff is also ready to assist members in drafting their own press releases.
