Arts Council of Greater Lansing Welcomes Meghan MartinPublic Invited to February Meet and Greet for New Program Manager

The Arts Council of Greater Lansing is pleased to welcome Meghan Martin as its new program manager. Martin brings a strong background in communications, project and event management and community outreach to the program manager position.

An experienced project manager and communicator, Martin has served as outreach and communications coordinator for the Tri-County Regional Planning Commission. In her role, she was responsible for communications, networking and events coordination, including branding and launching their 60th Anniversary Gala at the Eli & Edythe Broad Art Museum.

A Lansing-area native, Martin attended Dewitt High School and received her bachelor’s degree in journalism from Michigan State University. Prior to her work with TCRPC, Martin worked as a media specialist with the Michigan Press Association.“

As a former drama kid with a love for design, I really connect with the desire for arts and culture in our Greater Lansing community; therefore, I am very excited to join the Arts Council team and support the arts community,” said Martin. “I look forward to furthering their great work in the region and collaborating with our region’s leaders in promoting sense of place.”

As program manager, Martin will coordinate the annual Placemaking Summit, manage funding initiatives that provide grants to the field, coordinate our smARTS Program, among other responsibilities.

“We are so pleased that Meghan is joining our staff at the Arts Council,” says Deborah E. Mikula, Arts Council executive director. “She is a real champion for Greater Lansing and a great supporter of arts and culture,” Mikula said. “Her experience in outreach and relationship building are among the many assets she brings to the program manager position, and we are excited to welcome her to our team.”

The Arts Council invites the public to meet Martin at a Meet and Greet to be held at the Arts Council office at 1208 Turner St., Lansing, Mich. from 4 – 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10. Light refreshments will be served.
