Hyatt Place Silent Art Auction–Grand Opening Features Arts Council Artists

Hyatt Place Silent Art Auction

Grand Opening Features Arts Council Artists

The new Hyatt Place at Eastwood Towne Center is inviting folks to come dip their foot in the pool! Not literally, but close.

Sneak peek

They are opening their doors and offering a sneak peek at their establishment.  From the bar and guest rooms to the pool and weight rooms, you can see it all, and once you have, you’ll definitely want to return and dive right in.

A grand affair

While the new luxury operation officially opened its doors in May, the staff have been very busy over last few weeks as they carefully prepare for their grand opening celebration on June 25, 2015. The reception, which runs from 4 – 7 p.m.,  includes a delicious array of foods and beverages and an exhibit and silent art auction that will benefit the Arts Council of Greater Lansing.

Silent auction

The auction pieces were all donated by some of the Arts Council’s most esteemed artists and range in value up to $2,500. Jennifer Moeckel, director of sales at the Hyatt, contacted the Arts Council in March, saying that the company wanted their grand opening to feature art, and were interested in holding a silent auction with proceeds exclusively benefiting the Arts Council.

A generous donation

Artist members who have generously donated pieces of their work include: Mary Gillis, Craig Mitchell Smith, Mark Mehaffey, Zahrah Resh, Nancy McRay, Pamela Timmons, Jim Wolnosky, Kathy Sutton, Laura Weber and Timothy Higgins.

The Gallery

The Hyatt Place prides itself on its own art collections, prominently displayed throughout the hotel. Hyatt Place takes its art focus very seriously, calling their lobby “The Gallery,” where guests are greeted by “Gallery Hosts” when they arrive to check in. This attention to art made a silent art auction a natural component for the grand opening celebration.

Come celebrate
The Arts Council is honored to have been chosen by Hyatt as partners in their celebration and is grateful to the hotel staff and all of our donating artist members. Hyatt expects upwards of 300 guests at the event, and we hope you will be among them.
