Rebecca Case Exhibit–Nature Blooms at the Arts Council

Rebecca Case Exhibit

Nature Blooms at the Arts Council

The Arts Council is proud to announce Touch of Spring, an exhibit by Rebecca Case our featured member artist for March and April 2014. A long-time member of the Arts Council, Rebecca has artistry in her bones.

She says she has been drawing and painting since she was about eight years old, and with the exception of some high-school art classes, she is self-taught. “Growing up in Colorado, we had every kind of animal out our back door,” says Rebecca. “I drew everything from chickadees and squirrels to raccoons and black bears.”

Butterflies and Blooms

Rebecca moved to Michigan several years ago and was pleased to find not only an abundance of wild life, but plenty of new and exciting subject matter to explore. She especially enjoys searching the woodlands near her Okemos home where every step presents another opportunity for a photograph or a painting.

Past and Present

Currently, Rebecca is working in oil and acrylics, focusing on wildlife, flowers, landscapes. She has also worked in egg tempura, and learned to make her own paints. In addition to creating her own work, Rebecca also teaches floral and seascape oil-painting classes.
