Sense of Place in the Arts Grant Applications and Workshop Now Available
City Designates $120K to Support Creative Placemaking Projects in Lansing

As administrators of the Sense of Place in the Arts Grants, the Arts Council is excited to announce that the grant applications are now available with an Aug. 15, 2014 deadline. As strong supporters of the placemaking movement in Lansing, we are proud of our role in this grant program that invites individuals, cultural organizations and other community non-profits to create projects that help build sense of place in the Lansing tri-county area.

Creative placemaking

This program values the importance of creative placemaking and provides funds that support projects that are community driven and capitalize on the Lansing tri-counties’ assets.

Presented by The City of Lansing, the Lansing Economic Development Corporation and the Lansing Economic Area Partnership (LEAP) the grant is open this year to not only arts and cultural organizations but to other community organizations and municipalities in the tri-county region as well. This year the application deadline has been set for Aug. 15, 2014  for projects taking place between Oct. 1, 2014 – Sept. 30, 2015 and applicants can apply for $5,000 – $75,000.
