So you’ve decided to become an Arts Council member. And now you’re asking yourself “What does this mean?” “What do I get?'” Well here’s your answer! “You get a lot!” In fact, our membreship offers loads of benefits to help you don your cape and put your creative superpowers to work!
Directly to you
One of your benefits (quite possibly the most awesome) is your free profile on our Arts Council website Directory. The Directory is a place where people come to find artists, arts organizations and other information and is searchable by name, medium, key words, etc., so if a film team, say, wanted to find local art to use in a film they’re making (Yes, this totally happened), they could access our directory to find it and you! It helps you get seen!
Want to share?
Are you holding auditions, exhibiting your art, hosting a writer’s workshop, showing your pottery? Well then you should be all over our Arts Calendar! This is your vehicle to announce any arts-related events and happenings-exhibits, classes, concerts, festivals, sales, workshops-you name it. All you have to do is log in like you do when you access your directory profile, go to Arts Events, and announce your news. Do you have a share it on our Facebook page.
Boosting your arts brain
We are all about providing opportunities, so we offer a variety of resources to our members to help power up their businesses and their resources. Our SmArts workshops help you with the business side of your business and our mixers give you the opportunity to network with other artists and form friendships or even collaborations. These gatherings also are a great way to meet the arts lovers in our community and build your connections.
Face-to-Face
Don’t know what to include in your portfolio? Not sure how to best use social media? Need someone to look over your grant proposal? Then you should schedule a consultation and come on in. We love using our expertise to help you get the answers you need, and if we don’t know something, we are happy to guide you to the resources you need.
Other cool stuff
If you’ve ever stopped by to say hello, you know that we have a great resource room that is yours for the taking! Need a meeting space, a quiet place to work with free WIFI, a paper cutter, a copier, a scanner? All you need do is set up an appointment and come on in.
Endless possibilities
When we talk with you, and you share your ideas and questions with us, all sorts of things can happen. We might know about the perfect class, have the ultimate connection or the perfect opportunity. Being a member of the Arts Council can be as quiet or as loud as you’d like it to be! If you just want to be on the Directory and nothing more, then you can do that! If you are member because you dabble in art and want to support us, then you can do that! Or you can take advantage of every angle-sing it to the rooftops-and we’ll perform backup! It’s all up to you.
