Join us along with DJ Lipgloss, local celebrity drag queen extraordinaire Asio Aviance and 10 local karaoke kings and queens for an evening of karaoke and cocktails as we present our first ever karaoke contest and afterglo party at UrbanBeat in Old Town!
Party includes a cash bar, drink specials and a 50/50 raffle! You can also stuff your face at Shove It Pizza Truck whose pizza slingers will be on the street to provide you with all the pizza and breadsticks your heart desires!

Official Contest Rules!
To be eligible for this contest — you must abide by the following rules:
–You must not earn more than 50 percent of your living as a singer or performer exclusively.
–You must not be currently touring the circuit or have a record deal with any label or have any professional representation as a singer, be a union or agency represented performer.
–You must utilize the library of DJ Lipgloss for your contest song choices.
–You must email dawn@www.lansingarts.org to be entered into the contestant pool.
–You must be the only person on stage for your performance.
–You must be a resident of the tri-county region (Clinton, Ingham, Eaton counties).
Judging Criteria!
Contestants will be judged on the following criteria by our panel of judges.
–VOCAL ABILITY: Ability to hit the correct notes in the song, sing in tempo, with correct emotion and breathing.
–STAGE PRESENCE: Ability to sell the song and connect with the audience – deliver true emotion of performance.
–INTERPRETATION: Do they look and or sound like the star? Or did they make the song unique to your style?
–INTANGIBLES, ENTHUSIASM, EMOTION: Were they enthusiastic (for faster, dynamic song), or emotionally in sync (ballad) with the song. Was their costume “extra special” for the performance or did they do anything unique to set them apart from anyone else?
