Staff, board, committees, interns: people who make the Arts Council happen.
Tabor Vits joined the Arts Council in 2021. In his role as program assistant, he supports grant management, member outreach, smARTS workshops and programs such as Young Creatives. Starting in 2022, he will also lead the Arts Council's annual Creative Placemaking Summit.
Tabor holds a bachelor’s degree from The Residential College in the Arts and Humanities at Michigan State University. Working in Lansing since 2014, he has contributed to programs at REACH Studio Art Center (REACH) and All of the Above Hip Hop Academy (AOTA): most notably, REACH’s Teen Open Studio and AOTA’s breaking - aka “breakdance” - courses.
Around town, you might find him performing at public events, participating in a community garden or even foraging wild mushrooms in parks and nature centers.
Tabor views his arts and cultural work as a vehicle for healing, education and change. He looks forward to working with you as a neighbor, creative and collaborator in building a better world together.
